: A gang riding on a two-wheeler robbed a woman of her gold jewellery on Jawaharlal Nehru Salai, near Kolathur, on Wednesday night.

A senior police official said that J. Parimalam, a resident of Mogappair West, was returning with her daughter on a two-wheeler from Madhavaram when two persons riding a motorcycle and wearing helmets stopped her. They robbed her of her gold jewellery weighing more than 27 sovereigns at knife point and escaped from the spot. A special team has been formed to apprehend the culprits.
