Eight arrested on charge of murder

July 29, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 06:19 am IST - TIRUPATI:

The Tirupati Urban Police on Thursday arrested eight persons in connection with the murder of O. Vamsi Krishna alias Suresh (39).

According to Urban SP R. Jayalakshmi, the deceased, who earlier resided in Shivalayam street of Bhavani nagar, was reportedly an alcoholic and used to harass and verbally abuse his former wife C. Lalitha Kumari alias Lakshmi (40) and elder sister-in-law O. Latha (35).

Unable to bear this, the duo allegedly contacted their acquaintances M. Praveen (21) and R. Penchalaiah alias Peesodu alias Chinna (22), for killing Vamsi Krishna for money. After a deal, Praveen and Penchalaiah along with four others — K. Subramanyam alias Mani (36), P. Ankaiah (27), K. Hari (24) and Shankar Venkatesh alias Venky — allegedly hatched a plan to kill Vamsi Krishna. On July 11, the accused took Vamsi Krishna, who was already in an inebriated condition, to an isolated area, near a vacant land beyond Upparapalli check post and allegedly murdered him.
