AGRA: Notwithstanding the reported unhappiness of the BJP high command over the projection of Varun Gandhi as the CM face for UP by his supporters, a group owing allegiance to the youth leader took out a bike rally in Agra on Thursday to demand the state's top slot for him.
About 400 youths, under the banner of Varun Gandhi Youth Brigade, shouted slogans in favour of the youth leader and claimed that he alone could ensure the party's landslide victory in the state.
Justifying their demand on grounds that when Gorakhpur people can demand MP Yogi Adithyanath as the CM candidate, they too could, the activists said Varun was the "right choice" of the party.

This demand comes close on the heels of a categorical recent denial by Meneka Gandhi that her son was in the race for the Chief Ministerial post.
Carrying placards, the activists shouted slogans, “UP Janta Kare Pukar, Abki Bar Varun Sarkar” and “Nam vahi jo kam karaye Uttar Pradesh k Samman Badhaye”. The rally was organized by the BJP Fatehabad Mandal General Secretary, Satish Verma, who is also the Vidhan sabha president of Varun Gandhi Youth brigade.
Talking to TOI, Satish said youth want Varun to be the party's CM face.
