Pawan Kalyan's recent release "Sardaar Gabbar Singh" (SGS) has received fantastic response in its TV premiere, but the film has failed to beat the TRP ratings of "Srimanthudu" and "Babuabali."

The hype surrounding "Sardaar Gabbar Singh" had generated huge demand for its satellite rights and several channels were in the race to bag its rights. Finally, Star India acquired its TV rights for a whopping Rs 13 crore, which is the highest price for the rights of a movie featuring Pawan Kalyan. The film shattered the record of "Srimanthudu," which fetched Rs. 12 crore from its satellite rights.

Sardaar Gabbar Singh had its television premiere on MAA TV at 5:30 p.m. on July 17 and it got superb response from the TV audience. The movie has garnered 15.24 TRP ratings in its first TV premiere. RJV Aluri, an Assistant Manager at MAA TV, tweeted on July 28: "#SardaarGabbarSingh Delivers 15.24 TRP's and stands on top for this week .. Superb."

"Baahubali" and "Srimanthudu" have got 21.84 (MAA) and 21.24 (Zee Telugu) TRP rating points and they have landed in the second and third places, respectively, while "Magadheera" topped the list of the top 10 Telugu movies with all time high TRP ratings. "Sardaar Gabbar Singh" was expected to dethrone both the movies. But the movie has fallen short by a big margin.

The bosses of MAA TV released the full movie of "Sardaar Gabbar Singh" on Hotstar for the TV audience who missed its premiere. They posted the link to the movie on its Twitter handle on July 18 and wrote: "#MaaMovieTime : Watch Pawan Kalyan's #SardaarGabbarSingh on hotstar." "Sardaar Gabbar Singh" is an action comedy film. While the movie had a big opening, it bombed at the box office in the later days.
