Nargis has shot down rumours claiming that she plans to leave the industry. The actor says these are all "baseless rumours" and has "no plans to quit".

Nargis took to Twitter on Thursday to share that she is looking forward to completing her assignments in the US and will also start promoting her upcoming film Banjo in a few weeks.

Nargis wrote on Twitter:

Reports about the Azhar actor quitting Bollywood and not returning to India began doing the rounds when Fakhri left the country during the promotions of her films Azhar and Housefull 3 in May this year.

It was said that Nargis had apparently broken up with actor Uday Chopra and flown to the US to get over him. She was quoted by a daily as saying, "Nargis was all set to announce her wedding to Uday Chopra, but he'd changed his mind about getting hitched and this came as a shock to her. There was a time when he was very keen to marry her and had proposed to her, but she wanted to focus on her career and Hollywood films. Now, the tables have turned. She had a huge fight with him, suffered a nervous breakdown and left almost overnight."

However, Fakhri's spokesperson presented a different version of the story to the media. The spokesperson said, "Nargis has been extremely overworked working on three films simultaneously over the last year. For someone who's used to doing one film at a time, this was quite a bit for Nargis. Schedules and intense work hours that filmmaking demands are not something everyone can cope with. In addition, she has been unwell right through the Azhar promotions with multiple injuries - torn hamstring, anterior knee ligament thinning and mild socket dislocation along with burning of the stomach lining due to lead and arsenic poisoning. Due to these multiple issues and her overall exhaustion, she had a fever of about 101 degrees right through her promotions. Even though she was advised complete rest, she ensured she completed everything she had committed to for Azhar. However, due to her deteriorating condition, she had to request Sajid sir (Nadiadwala, the producer of Housefull 3) and bow out of Housefull 3 promotions to go back home to New York for a month to address all her medical issues and recuperate."

A few days after the Nargis Fakhri-Uday Chopra brouhaha, Chopra released a statement which read, "I normally don't respond to gossip, but the press has been reporting a lot of fiction disguised as fact. I would just like to clarify that Nargis and I have been and still are very close friends. The press has done a wonderful job of creating stories out of thin air and I applaud their creativity. However these are all untrue."

Nargis has been away from the country for more than two months now, but seems like we will see the actor back in action soon. Her upcoming film Banjo, directed by Ravi Jadhav, will see her opposite Riteish Deshmukh.
