The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has been probing the murders of two BJP-VHP leaders, Shirish Bengali and Pragnesh Mistry, in Bharuch on November 2, 2015. The NIA was roped in after Gujarat police found that the conspiracy was hatched across various countries, including Pakistan, South Africa and Saudi Arabia, allegedly to strike terror in Hindus by targeting leaders of right-wing saffron organizations.
The court wrote to these governments after the NIA submitted that the principal perpetrators and masterminds behind the conspiracy are allegedly residents of these countries.
