Activists of the National Student Union of India (NSUI) created a ruckus at Government Graduate College at Thatyud in Tehri Garhwal district today and raised slogans in support of their demands.

They sat on a dharna in support of their three-point demand, namely rescheduling the dates for admission to the college, opening of new employment-oriented courses such as hotel management and increasing seats in the first year classes.

NSUI leader Vinod Rawat said if the demands were not met, they would launch a massive agitation. He also met state Congress vice-president Jot Singh Bisht in this regard. Bisht assured him of looking into the matter and doing the needful. Meanwhile, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarathi Parishad (ABVP) leaders termed the protest as an election stunt as the admission process was about to end and the election time about to begin in the college.

They said NSUI leaders were playing politics and had they been serious the state government would have fulfilled their demands. Dharmendar Kandari, Sonvir, Dinesh Rangad and others were present on the occasion.
