Samitis to address power supply issues

The state government has decided to constitute the ‘Haryana Swarn Jayanti Bijli Samitis’ in every operation sub division of the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam and the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam to address various issues related to supply of electricity in all the 230 sub divisions of the state.

While stating this here today, a spokesman for the Power Department said the samities would have two representatives each of industrial associations and traders, resident welfare associations (urban area) or rural domestic consumers, farmers (wherever applicable) and women representatives as its members. There would be one representative each from the Public Health Engineering Department and the district administration. He said other members would include representatives of the municipal corporations or councils or committees in case of urban areas, Zila Parishad members in case of rural areas and representatives of panchayat samitis.
