Yes! Shonda Rhimes and Audra McDonald Destroy Bill O'Reilly

The ladies were not here for his comments on slavery.

While the wide majority of the nation was left positively in awe of First Lady Michelle Obama's inspiration speech at the Democratic National Convention, one of the few who seemed to have a problem with it was Fox News host Bill O'Reilly. The part that seemed to bother him was her mentioning of the White House being "built by slaves," to which he trivialized, saying the slaves were "well fed." Shonda Rhimes and Audra McDonald wasted no time in giving the bigot a history lesson on why his comments were problematic.

The part of FLOTUS's speech in question reads, "I wake up every morning in a house that was built by slaves. And I watch my daughters, two beautiful, intelligent, Black young women playing with their dogs on the White House lawn."

O'Reilly's critique of the beautiful words were unsurprisingly ignorant. "Slaves that worked there were well-fed and had decent lodgings provided by the govermnent, which stopped hiring slave labor in 1802," he said.

Scandal showrunner Shonda Rhimes and Broadway superstar Audra McDonald gave the conservative host some much needed criticism of his own:

Will this show him that his words were not only inappropriate, but offensive? Given his track record, probably not, but they definitely schooled him, nonetheless.

Relive the moment FLOTUS delivered one of her most rousing speeches to date in the BET Breaks video, above.
