Potholed NH claims life in Alappuzha

ALAPPUZHA: An unidentified youth was run over by a tanker lorry after his two-wheeler skid on the potholed National Highway 66 on Wednesday night at Mayithara. The Mararikkulam police said that they could not identify the deceased and the pillion rider, Binu, 35, Alappuzha, who suffered serious injuries, has been admitted to a private hospital in Cherthala.The tanker lorry was heading towards Alappuzha when the accident took place. The body has been shifted to the morgue of Cherthala Taluk Hospital,’’ said sub-inspector A V Biju.
