          Leo Santa Cruz, Carl Frampton set to clash at featherweight

          A matchup of undefeated fighters headlines Saturday night's Showtime Boxing slate. On Friday, WBC light heavyweight titlist Adonis Stevenson will defend his belt against southpaw Thomas Williams Jr. on Premier Boxing Champions on Spike.

          WBC Light Heavyweight Title Bout (175-lb limit)

          Adonis Stevenson vs. Thomas Williams Jr. - 12 rounds

          Stevenson, who has been linked to unified light heavyweight titlist Sergey Kovalev over the last two years, will look to extend his current streak to 15 wins and make the seventh defense of his WBC title. The No. 1-ranked light heavyweight enters the fight at 27-1 with 22 knockouts. He is 7-0 in world title fights.

          Williams Jr., son of a former heavyweight, will attempt to win his first world title. He comes into the bout with a 20-1 record and 14 knockouts, 13 of which have come in the first three rounds.

          Stevenson ranks first in power punch connect percentage, according to CompuBox, and has knocked out 12 of his last 14 opponents.

          WBA Featherweight Title Bout (125-lb limit)

          Leo Santa Cruz vs. Carl Frampton – 12 Rounds

          On Saturday, three-division titlist Leo Santa Cruz will make the second defense of his WBA featherweight title against Carl Frampton.

          Santa Cruz brings a 32-0-1 record into the bout and has defeated seven current or former world titlists. The No. 1-ranked featherweight by ESPN is on a 31-fight winning streak.

          After unifying the IBF and WBA 122-pound titles, Frampton will make his debut in the featherweight division against Santa Cruz, who moved up to featherweight last year.

          Frampton, also undefeated at 22-0 with 14 knockouts, has defeated five world titlists in his career. He is the No. 2-ranked junior featherweight by ESPN. Frampton's 29 percent opponent power connect percentage ranks ninth best, according to CompuBox.

          His defense will be tested against Santa Cruz, who lands 47 percent of his power punches. Santa Cruz is among the most aggressive fighters in boxing and is near the top of the rankings in several CompuBox categories. His 33 punches landed per round is nearly double the featherweight average (17).

          According to the Westgate Las Vegas Superbook (as of Tuesday), Santa Cruz is the favorite at minus-310, while Frampton comes in at plus-260.
