The Leeds Warrior tops the bill on a busy night of boxing on Sky Sports 1

Where better to start than with Leeds' home-grown hero. Warrington (23-0-KO4) is becoming well accustomed to being the headline act in his beloved city and Dubliner Patrick Hyland (31-2-KO15) - who most recently lost to WBC world featherweight champion Gary Russell Jr - is the latest to try and hand the Yorkshireman his first defeat.

Having won British, Commonwealth and European titles, the Leeds favourite sits on the brink of a world title shot and Warrington is hopeful that an impressive victory on Saturday will present the golden opportunity.

Warrington, 25, who is the number one ranked challenger with the WBC, was expected to face IBF world champion Lee Selby this summer, but instead he has another defence of his WBC International title to prove he is one of the top fighters at 126lbs.

He made impressive inroads on the world scene having comfortably outpointed Joel Brunker and Hisashi Amagasa and will now face a tough challenge in Hyland, who has only lost twice, both times to the division's elite fighters.

Apart from Russell Jr, the only other man to beat him was Javier Fortuna of the Dominican Republic, when fighting for the WBA interim world title back in 2012. With the likes of Selby, Oscar Valdez, Leo Santa Cruz and Carl Frampton lying in wait, both Warrington and Hyland will be aware of the added incentive come Saturday, in what is always a full-on and fiery Leeds atmosphere.

Luke Campbell v Argenis Mendez

Campbell and new trainer Jorge Rubio are looking for an explosive win

After beating local rival Coyle in a headline domestic clash at Hull's Craven Park, it seemed just a matter of time before Campbell would get his hands on a world title. However, in his next fight the Olympic gold medallist suffered a shock defeat, the first of his career, to Yvan Mendy of France which shelved all plans of an imminent challenge for world honours.

For Campbell, it may have served as a wake-up call and he has since teamed up with Jorge Rubio - former trainer of Cuban sensation Guillermo Rigondeaux - and based himself in the heat of Miami ahead of this next fight. The slick southpaw got back to winning ways by stopping Gary Sykes earlier this year, but now faces a huge and dangerous challenge against a former super-featherweight world champion in Argenis Mendez

Mendez won the IBF title back in 2013, before eventually losing the belt to another talented Cuban in Rances Barthelemy a year later. Campbell is an accomplished southpaw and this presents another great chance to get amongst the world's elite fighters, but he is well aware that defeat is not an option.

Dillian Whyte v David Allen

Whyte is ready to show Yorkshire and Allen how skillful he is

Both Whyte and Allen have been very vocal over social media but they can finally put the talking to one side and settle their differences in the ring. The WBC international heavyweight title fight seems to have the makings of a classic domestic dust-up between two up-and-coming fighters hoping to move on to bigger things.

Whyte took IBF world champion and rival Anthony Joshua through seven rounds back in December 2015 when the pair fought for the British title. The fight headlined a massive PPV show on Sky Sports and Whyte earned a lot of respect for his performance and has since signed with promoter Eddie Hearn.

Allen's short unbeaten career is without a notable name or a standout victory, the Doncaster man admitting the difficulty in landing a credible opponent. Finally though, he has the chance to prove his worth after months of antagonising and calling out Whyte and the scene is set for a fiery battle.

Tyrone Nurse v Tommy Coyle

Tyrone Nurse (l): defends his British title against Tommy Coyle
Image: Will Nurse be too big for Coyle?

Nurse will be making the second defence of his British super-lightweight title against Coyle and the fight looks to be a fascinating match-up of styles. While Nurse is tall, rangey and a slick boxer, Coyle - having moved up from lightweight - is the much smaller man who will look to dictate the pace and get on the inside of his opponent from the off.

Huddersfield's Nurse is starting to look like the real deal, improving with every performance and many are predicting him to go well beyond domestic level. The 26-year-old most recently stopped Scottish veteran Willie Limond in the ninth round of their contest in May, having previously won the British belt by outpointing Chris Jenkins last November.

In Coyle though he faces a new challenge and a fighter who has a never-say-die attitude. 'Boom Boom' is confident that the extra weight will make him even better, only adding to the power that he so often showed at the lightweight limit. Coyle is a passionate man and is doubly determined to become Hull's first British champion. The fight promises to be exciting, it is just a question of whose style will eventually prevail.
