Son unwell, but no sympathy for Karnataka CM on twitter
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's son has fallen ill and is in hospital in Belgium, but the chief minister is getting no sympathy from his twitter followers.
The reason: The CM used his official twitter handle, @CMofKarnataka, to make a announcement on a personal matter, the twitterati has complained.
The tweet, posted on Wednesday at 12.05 PM reads, "CM Siddaramaiah's son Rakesh had fell ill (sic) while touring in Belgium. Hospitalised and getting better. CM's family is in touch with the doctors".
Instead of sympathy, his twitter followers reacted with derision and criticism.

@CMofKarnataka @OfficeOfRG What an important news to be shared by CM. Don't tweet such trivial things from official IDs

Let him get well soon @CMofKarnataka BTW why personal news is part of official account?

One message read, "and this is official news? Need to change people who run this handle". Another said, "State is under sever problem is this the more important (sic)? We pray for him, who will pray for us!!", a third message derided the CM saying, "Sorry, I could have visited hospital, due to KSRTC strike I am not able to. Please don't mind".
The Chief Minister's twitter account is not a personal one. It belongs to the Chief Minister of Karnataka and not to Siddaramaiah. It's a verified account meant for the CM to make official announcements. His son Rakesh does not hold any official position in the government.
