Rajkot: Four dalit victims from Mota Samadhiyala village in Una taluka of Gir-Somnath, were discharged from Rajkot civil hospital on Tuesday.
They were among the seven who were brutalized by cow vigilantes on July 11 while they were skinning dead cows.
Vashram Sarvaiya (26), his brother Ramesh (23), cousin Ashok (20) and relative Bechar (30) left Rajkot for their village under police escort.
Doctors said that they had fully recovered.
However, relatives and the four victims requested doctors to continue with treatment claiming that they were yet to recover fully.
"Doctors say that all of them have recovered and there is no requirement of further treatment," said Deven Vanvi, a dalit leader, who was present at the hospital and was making arrangements for their return.
One of the victim Vashram said, "It would be better if I remain in hospital for few more days. I am not that well-built and still feel pain in my back."
However, Dr N T Nakum, resident medical officer of civil hospital, said, "We have discharged the four dalits as they have recovered fully. They do not require hospitalization."

Meanwhile, a Congress member in New Delhi claimed that the dalit victims have not been paid the entire Rs 4 lakh compensation declared by the government even after a fortnight.
Raising the issue during Zero Hour in Rajya Sabha on Tuesday, Madhusudan Mistry said the state government had announced Rs 4 lakh compensation for the Una victims, but till now only Rs 1 lakh has been paid.
"Don't they have money or they don't want to give. Why is there an apathy on part of the government," he said and wanted to know when the victims will get the full compensation.
