Narsingh Yadav’s Olympic fate still hangs mid-air. The 74kg freestyle category wrestler, who has been under radar for testing positive in the doping test is battling his way out of the ring to make it in. Narsingh Yadav has alleged some conspiracy behind this. Singh’s family had also said that they will hold a rally outside Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s office if justice won’t be served.
Wrestling Federation of India(WFI) statement that came today about sending a replacement for Wrestler Narsingh Yadav before July 25 has been negated by Sports Minister Vijay Goel. He addressed the media on the questions being raised about sending a replacement and whether the replacement will be Praveen Rana.
Goel said that if an anti-doping panel has suspended a player provisionally & the final report has come, then no player can be substituted. He further rebuffed the chances of a replacement and said ‘ I don’t think any person is allowed to take the place of another, if the original player has failed the dope test’. He also said that just in case a player is seriously unwell then only under extraordinary circumstances can the concerned agency consider this.

However, to keep the ends open, Vijay Goel said ‘I have put forth my opinion clearly stating rules, but even after that if any player goes with permission, we have no objection’.
