Deputy Commissioner N. Jayaram on Tuesday issued a show-cause notice to Khanapur Tahsildar N.G. Patil for a faux pas in clamping prohibitory order under Section 144 (1) of Cr.PC in Kankumbi apprehending an adverse award from the Mahadayi Water Dispute Tribunal.
Mr. Patil clamped the prohibitory order in Kankumbi — from Mauli temple to the rear portion of the Public Works Department’s Inspection Bungalow — from 6 a.m. to midnight of July 25 in anticipation of the tribunal announcing an interim award on Monday.
