Two chain snatchers arrested

The Vannarapet police arrested two men on charges of chain- snatching at Tiruvottiyur on Monday. Police said Vijayakumari, 45, was returning home when two men wearing helmets snatched her four-sovereign gold chain and sped away. Within minutes, the two men attempted to snatch the gold chain of Vijayalakshmi, 50. Vijayalakshmi resisted their attempts and began to scream when a police patrol nabbed the men.Police identified the accused as Aravind and Babu, both 22. They live in the same area. An investigation is on to see if there were accomplices. TNN
