A 12-year-old boy allegedly abducted on Tuesday while on his way to school was found in Nadiad by the Ahmedabad Detection of Crime Branch. The mother of the boy, a resident of Sola, had informed the police that her son was abducted by some unknown people who had demanded Rs 15 lakh ransom.
The boy’s father Vishnu Patel works in Boston. According to DCB officials, there were at least two persons involved in the kidnapping who abandoned the boy near Nadiad railway station apprehending getting caught by the police. The boy was found by an auto-rickshaw driver who brought him to the police.
Sources in the crime branch said that prima facie it seems the kidnappers are known to the family. “The boy is giving different versions about the kidnapping. He may be scared at the moment but we have doubt that it is the handiwork of someone close to the family.” The boy had left home at around 11 am while her mother reportedly received the ransom call at around 1 pm. Following this, the Sola police station officials along with DCB were tracking the boy.
