Entertainment » OtherPosted at: Jul 26 2016 10:00PM State govt forgets promise to erect tower in memory of Kargil hero Sachidananda MallickKendrapara, Jul 26 (UNI) While the nation is celebrating the 17th anniversary of the Kargil war “Bijay diwas” today to remember those who have lost their lives in Kargil War, back home in Kendrapara, it seems the state government have forgotten its promise to erect a tower in memory of Sachidananda Mallick who got martyrdom in Kargil war .The foundation stone for the memorial tower was laid by the then Collector, Krushna Chandra Mohanty and the former Kendrapara, MP Pravat Kumar Samantaray during the second death anniversary of Sachidananda, but even after 15 years of laying of foundation stone for the martyr tower, nothing has been done in this regard, rued the villagers.Meanwhile, the foundation stone laid for the memorial tower of Kargil hero in a plot near the Kandiahat Police outpost under Rajkanika tehsil of the district was lying neglected.Please log in to get detailed story.Tags: #State govt forgets promise to erect tower in memory of Kargil hero Sachidananda Mallick
