Robbery caught on camera

Two persons claiming to be police robbed an aged woman at R.S. Puram on Monday morning. The incident has been recorded by a camera installed at a gift shop.

The police said that they stopped R. Nagalakshmi (70) of Subramaniyam Road while she was returning home after visiting a temple at around 9 a.m. They told her that an aged woman was stabbed and robbed of her jewellery the previous day, and hence she should keep her jewellery safe.

They helped her cover the jewellery in a paper and gave it to her.

When she reached home, she found that she has been cheated. She lost her chain, and bangles weighing about 60 gm.
