Maan, associates detained at Lakhanpur

JAMMU, July 25: Akali Dal Maan president Simranjeet Singh Maan was today detained along with his two dozen supporters after he crossed the Lakhanpur bridge and entered into the territory of J&K to visit Kashmir and extend support to separatists and subversive elements there.
Mr Maan and his men later resorted to protest at Lakhanpur near toll post and blocked the National Highway for half an hour. The protesting activists of AD (Maan) also shouted slogans against the Indian army and government and accused them of committing excesses on Kashmiris.
Maan while protesting urged the police men to allow him to visit Kashmir
So that he can express his support and solidarity with separatists there.
He said he was going to Valley to meet hardliner Hurriyat leader Sayeed Ali Shah Geelani and other separatists and express solidarity for Kashmir movement with them.
But the police did not allow him to proceed further and detained him and his supporters at Lakhanpur. Later he sat on protest which continued for the day.
