Badminton: Sai, Krishna, Pavan emerge champions

The winners were right on target through the match, scoring points at will to steadily increase the gap and eventually seal the title.

Sri Krishna Sai Podile of Telangana, Sai Pavan Karri and G. Krishna Prasad of Andhra Pradesh were among the local winners at the Oshon All-India Junior Ranking Badminton Tournament held at the SAT Indoor Stadium in Saroorngar, Hyderabad. Top seeded pair of Sai Pavan and Krishna Sai combined well to overpower Siddhartha Mishra and Siddhant Salar of Uttar Pradesh 21-10, 21-13 to win the Under 17 boys doubles title.

The winners were right on target through the match, scoring points at will to steadily increase the gap and eventually seal the title. In the Under 19 mixed doubles final, Krishna Prasad of AP struck admirable rhythm alongside Mahima Aggarwal of Karnataka to defeat Balraj Kajla and Mithula UK of Karnataka 21-15, 22-20. Ghouse Shaik and Syed Basheer of AP were unlucky though, and ended runners-up in the Under 19 boys doubles category. They lost to the top seeded pair of Bodhit Joshi and M. Mithun at a 19-21, 9-21 scoreline.
