You may not have heard much about it, but there's a completely unnecessary remake of the 1959 classic Ben-Hur coming out in August. Hell, the only way we saw this months-old trailer is because it was pre-roll on the new Future music video. Anyway, in the film, Morgan Freeman plays one of the main characters, Sheik Ilderim. He seems to be doing his all-knowing wise old guy Morgan Freeman thing in the trailer, but honestly it's hard to pay attention to anything but the dreadlocks the film's creators have him sporting.

In the past, Morgan Freeman has made some questionable style moves (most notably with some hoop earrings), but it shouldn't be a hot take to say Morgan Freeman simply should not have dreadlocks, in a movie or otherwise. This is a guy who is most known for doing voice overs for movies about penguins and playing actual God on screen. Dreadlocks are just not his vibe, and they look less than natural.

Also, is this hairstyle factually accurate? Like, did people who were alive at the same time as Jesus wear their hair like this? Should we even give the makers of the Ben-Hur remake the benefit of the doubt on that one? They really got one of the greatest actors of all-time out here looking like a cross between the owner of a not-so-nice hooka bar and Predator. [Morgan Freeman Voice] That ain't right.
