GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd KV (GHIAL) has conducted a mock drill to test its preparedness in handling hazardous material (HAZMAT).
The emergency exercise was carried out at Cargo Apron of Hyderabad Airport on July 21.
Hazardous materials include toxic chemical and gas, radioactive materials and inflammable explosives.
Freighter firm Blue Dart, Apollo Hospitals, Telangana State Disaster Response and Fire Services Department have take part in the drill.
''We have been doing this exercise since 2008. This helps our Emergency Response team at the GHIAL to practice the emergency handling of Hazardous Material incidents, '' an airport spokesman said.
The emergency situation was simulated by using a live aircraft with dummy causalities.
