Democratic National Convention
PBS, 8 ET/5 PT

Contestants on this season's 'So You Think You Can Dance' on Fox.

It’s the Democrats' turn, as the party gathers in Philadelphia to nominate Hillary Clinton for president. As with the Republicans last week, PBS will offer three hours of coverage in primetime, co-anchored by Gwen Ifill and Judy Woodruff. ABC, CBS and NBC join in at 10 ET/PT; the cable news outlets will fill in around them.

So You Think You Can Dance
Fox, 8 ET/PT

Even those of us who were depressed by the very idea of a kiddie version of Dance maintained some slim hope that the show would at least avoid sexualizing these children through costumes and choreography. All you have to do is peruse some clips on the web and you’ll see those hopes have long since been abandoned. No one was expecting a return to the Era of Innocence, but some of us did expect a show that was once one of the genre’s best would avoid plunging into areas that are, to use the precise critical term, icky.  What a sad, disgraceful end for a once-great series.

Rizzoli & Isles
TNT, 9 ET/PT

Rizzoli is also nearing its end — but first, it gets to celebrate its 100th episode. The outing, which was directed by star Angie Harmon, finds Jane going undercover in a prison to uncover the killer of a jailed murderer.
