Police registered a case against an assistant professor of Farook College following a complaint by a girl student of the college that he sexually abused her.

KOZHIKODE: Police registered a case against an assistant professor of Farook College following a complaint by a girl student of the college that he sexually abused her.
According to the complaint by the 20-year-old, the Malayalam professor sexually abused her promising to marry her. The complainant said the professor sexually exploited her at a quarters near the college in March 2015.
The final year student decided to file a petition as the accused failed to keep his promise to marry her.
An investigation into the complaint will be carried out by assistant commissioner L Surendran as the complainant girl belongs to scheduled caste community. The police have charged the accused under Section 376 (rape) and under various sections of SC/ST (prevention of atrocities) Act.
A complaint was submitted to the Feroke police, on Saturday. The police registered the case on Saturday night. The accused is absconding, said the investigating officer.
