A government school at Yerwada assumed an alarming bearing when two of its students went missing from the premises without notice. Described as sincere and diligent by their teachers, these two minors were nowhere seen on the campus of the government residential school run for children of conservancy workers.
Of the two missing, the 14-year-old belongs to the city whereas the 15-year-old hails from Aurangabad.
The school authority came to know about their disappearances around 10 am when a rector was taking a roll call. Cops said the children might have fled the campus between 5 am and 7 am on Sunday.
Suresh Shinde, school's headmaster, said, "We were surprised when we came to know that two of our sincere and bright students have disappeared. They were monitors of their respective classes and very punctual. They would alert us about misdeeds on the campus. Once, they had informed us about a minor planning to flee the school. Their disappearance has left us perplexed. At the moment, we are unable to determine the reason."
Shinde, along with other school authorities, immediately began searching for their students. They tried every way of contacting them, but to no avail.
"Since our campus is huge, we first thought that they might be somewhere around. Then, we called their parents as we assumed they might have gone home without informing us. But, they had no clue about their children's whereabouts. Finally, we filed an FIR with the Yerwada police," the headmaster added.
Following that , cops hurried to the school to proceed with further investigation.
Police sub-inspector Ravi Lohare said, "We haven't got any leads about their whereabouts yet. The two children stay in different rooms. However, some of their friends told us that they slept in the same room yesterday. We tried to ask them for more information, but they are clueless about the matter. Now, we are contacting the relatives of the missing minors."

Lohare further alleged, "There is no CCTV camera in the school. Guards were not even doing their duty properly."
One of the missing kids' friend, on condition of anonymity, said, "When we were chatting yesterday, they seemed very normal and disclosed nothing about their plans. There was no reason for them to flee from this hostel."
The institution, run by Babasaheb Ambedkar Research and Training Institute (BARTI), has 311 students on its roll and and they belong to different parts of Maharashtra.
