Fina Nauloga of Namatakula village in the Tikina of Komave whose arm and leg got amputated following an accident rejoiced in tears after she received a wheel chair and commode.

The 40-year-old told her donor Vodafone ATH Fiji Foundation which partnered with Spinal Injury Association and Warwick Foundation that since her amputation, she had been using a wrong device.

“I had been using a wrong device until the team came and did proper measurement and gave what suited me best. This will change my life,” Ms Nauloga said.

Ms Nauloga thanked the donors for recognising her needs along with those of 20 others.

More than $17,000 worth of mobility devices was handed over to Korolevu Health Centre for 21 such cases in the tikina of Komave and Korolevuiwai.

Warwick Hotels and Resorts Fiji, community liaison officer Mereisi Ratulevu said the need was identified by the medical team from Korolevu Health Centre.

“We are happy, as today we will see smiles on the faces of those in need. We will continue to identify needs of our communities and access support where possible,” Ms Ratulevu said.

Spinal Injury Association, executive director, Joshko Wakaniyasi said: “The Team from Tamavua Rehab came to screen the cases and also help them. Such partnership has seen us reaching to the larger populace.”

Meanwhile the Vodafone ATH Fiji Foundation executive, Ambalika Devi said the foundation, in partnership with Spinal Injury Association and its network partners have brought in over $20 million worth of mobility devices and medical supplies to help those that need them.
