One-Day Cup: Rikki Clarke stars as Warwickshire thump Worcester

Rikki Clarke decimated Worcestershire's top order as Warwickshire Bears recorded a thumping eight-wicket Royal London One-Day Cup win at Edgbaston.

Clarke (5-26) removed Tom Kohler-Cadmore (4) in the first over before ousting Tom Fell (4), Alexei Kervezee (0), Ross Whiteley (0) and Daryl Mitchell (10) as the visitors lost five wickets for two runs to slip to 19-6.

Worcestershire scrambled to 115 - Ed Barnard (38) and Joe Leach (29) putting on a patient 60 for the eighth wicket - but Warwickshire trumped that total in 22.4 overs, with Tim Ambrose hitting an unbeaten 54 from 42 balls.

Nottinghamshire Outlaws and Yorkshire Vikings top the North Group, however, following victories over Derbyshire Falcons and Leicestershire Foxes respectively.

Riki Wessels blasted 114 from 85 balls - his second ton of the One-Day Cup campaign - and Chris Read biffed 59 from 39 deliveries as Notts racked up 340-7 before dismissing Derbyshire for 275 at Market Warsop to claim a 65-run victory.

Yorkshire's Travis Head, meanwhile, cracked a scintillating 175 as his team amassed 376-3, the Australian pummelling 18 fours and four sixes and putting on 274 with Jack Leaning (131no) for the third wicket. Leicestershire were dismissed for 185 with England leg spinner Adil Rashid taking 3-23 to leave the Foxes rooted to the bottom of the North Group.

Rob Keogh (134) top scored for Northamptonshire Steelbacks in their 170-run win over Durham at The County Ground. Right-arm fast bowler Mohammad Azharullah starred with the ball, taking five of the last seven wickets to finish with figures of 5-43 from nine-and-a-half overs, as Durham were dismissed for 185.

South Group table-toppers Essex Eagles came unstuck against Surrey in Chelmsford - Steven Davies (82) and Jade Dernbach (4-41) impressing for the visitors as they secured a 66-run victory to notch only their second win of the season.

Peter Trego cracked 80 from 76 balls in a 33-run Duckworth-Lewis win for Somerset over Glamorgan at Taunton. Jim Allenby chipped in with 56 as the hosts posted 322-7 before dismissing Glamorgan for 279 after they were set a revised target of 313 from 47 overs.

Paul Stirling scored 112 and Eoin Morgan smashed an unbeaten 103 from 121 balls from in a six-wicket win for Middlesex against Kent Spitfires at Lord's. Kent opener Sean Dickson scored 99 as they posted 238-7 but a 214-run partnership between Stirling and Morgan laid the foundations for a comfortable victory for the hosts. 

Tom Smith dazzled with bat and ball to pile on the misery for South Group bottom side Sussex Sharks in a 51-run win for Gloucestershire at Cheltenham. Michael Klinger scored 46 before Smith cracked 43 from 46 balls as Gloucestershire posted a modest 242-8 from 50 overs. The visitors were dismissed for 191, with Smith claiming 4-26 from his 10 overs.
