Pawar at his witty best

July 24, 2016 10:35 pm | Updated October 18, 2016 02:53 pm IST - Mumbai:

Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) president Sharad Pawar, 75, and hence ineligible to be an office-bearer of the BCCI or a full member, took to wisecracks as a way to express his displeasure at the Justice Lodha Committee and the Apex Court’s decision to keep individuals over 70 out of administration of the sport.

“Ultimately this is a Supreme Court decision. And that’s why one should not comment on it. But I am worried about such decisions being taken elsewhere. I have just seen the official list of the panel of Supreme Court judges who have been assigned for arbitration.

“It’s a good thing. They are experienced people and their knowledge about law has to be made available; forget about anything else. I see the names of Justice Anand who is 79, others who are 75, 81, 74, 74, 74.”
