The Lions now set their sights on the Super Rugby title holders

Cool heads and grounded feet are what the Lions need in the build up to one of their most important weeks in Super Rugby.

The Johannesburg-based side booked a spot in the semifinals of the competition in fine style when they walked all over seven-time champs‚ the Crusaders‚ on Saturday night.The Lions remain South Africa's only hope of clinching the title.They are the only local side remaining in the competition after the Stormers and the Sharks were knocked out after poor performances in the quarterfinals at the weekend.The Lions now face the defending Super Rugby champions‚ the Highlanders‚ at home at Ellis Park on Saturday – something the side sees as a herculean challenge.“This is going to be a massive week‚” influential Lions captain Warren Whiteley said.“We also need to keep our feet on the ground‚ we can't get ahead of ourselves.“There is still a massive game that awaits us next weekend‚ a massive challenge.”The Lions' 42-25 win against the Crusaders in the quarterfinals not only confirmed Johan Ackermann's side as one of the teams of the competition this year‚ but it also boosted confidence going into the more crucial stages of the competition.“It was amazing‚” Whiteley said about the victory.“Credit to everyone because it was a really massive squad effort. Every single player stepped up and performed. That is what was needed against a quality Crusaders side.“It brings a lot of confidence within us – not that we did not have confidence. We really believe in the style of play that we have. We believe in each other.“This does give us an extra boost.”The Lions face the Highlanders at Ellis Park at 3.pm on Saturday.​ - TMG Digital..
