IN what looked to be a case of a Rabbitoh vs. a Pikachu, the Pokemon Go craze has reached the National Rugby League.
After an intense one-on-one coaching session at Redfern Oval on Saturday morning, star forward and UK expat George Burgess amused onlookers with a 45-minute workout on his phone.
The bulky prop, who returned to the game after groin and hip surgery last week, displayed some fancy footwork in a sock and sandal combo as he rushed around the park playing the controversial game, which sees players chase, fight and capture animated creatures.
Burgess, who is one of millions who have embraced the phone app globally, stood for some time in an area marked as a ”Pokemon gym”, setting off a virtual lure to attract more of the online animals.
