McGuinness told his story in last year's book, Until Victory Always, and the Sunday World are reporting that a film is now in the works.

No director or actors have yet been chosen, but the paper says that Oscar nominee Kirsten Sheridan is working on the script.

McGuinness' tale features plenty of sporting success but there is also heartbreak, with the future manager having to overcome the tragic death of two of his brothers.
