Two young lovers commit suicide, bodies fished out from Anand canal

Vadodara/Anand: Two young lovers allegedly committed suicide by jumping into a canal in Anand district. Paresh Solanki, 20, and Dipika Gohil, 19, who belonged to different castes, were missing from Manjipura village of Kheda district's Nadiad taluka since Friday evening.
Their bodies were fished out from the canal from near Tarapur town of Anand district on Saturday morning.Police said the couple had a love affair but had faced resistance from their families after which they took the extreme step.
"The duo had jumped into the canal from the outskirts of Akhrol village near Nadiad," said a cop.TNN
After the bodies were recovered from the canal, they were taken for post-mortem. The bodies were later handed over to the respective families while Tarapur police station registered a case regarding the suicide by the duo.
