Woman out of job after speaking out against handsy boss: suit

A Queens woman says she lost her job at the famed Lamb’s Club for complaining about a manager who smacked her on the butt.

Angele Yonke, 47, had worked as a reservationist at the West 44th Street eatery for about a year when her boss, John Fanning, slapped her rear end, she claims in a Manhattan Federal Court lawsuit.

The Lamb’s Club is in the historic Chatwal Hotel, where an actor’s society called The Lambs was once headquartered. The restaurant, now run by Food Network star Geoffrey Zakarian, isn’t affiliated with the society.

Fanning quickly tried to pass off the fanny fondling as a joke, but when Yonke refused to let it go, she was written up in retaliation and later quit, she says.

“This was supposed to be a well respected establishment. Touching of someone’s private parts in the work place should not be tolerated, and the restaurant’s going to have to answer for that,” lawyer Joshua Frank said.

Lamb’s Club lawyer Carolyn Richmond called Yonke’s suit “devoid of any merit.”
