Yamunanagar: Heavy rainfall threw life out of gear in Yamunanagar and its adjoining areas on Saturday. Most areas of the town were waterlogged due to poor drainage as people blamed the administration of not making adequate arrangements ahead of monsoons.
Most residential colonies of Yamunanagar and Jagadhri, including Model Town, Tilak Nagar, Lajpat Nagar and Tagore Colony were inundated.

Protesting against the poor sewerage in the town, angry residents blocked the road near Yamunanagar bus stand and workshop area leading to a big traffic jam.
A group of people also assembled in front of the residence of Yamunanagar deputy commissioner (DC) S S Phoolia demanding draining of rainwater.
Haryana assembly speaker Kanwar Pal Gujjar, who is an MLA from Jagadhri constituency, had a tough time in pacifying the residents. Phoolia said he had asked the officials of the concerned department to submit a report about waterlogging and poor cleaning of the drainage system in the town that left the streets flooded and the residents angry.
