Class XII boy hangs himself at his home

Coimbatore: A Class 12 student committed suicide by hanging at his residence at Cheran Maa Nagar here on Friday evening.
The deceased was identified as T Guruprasad, 17, of Malar Avenue First Street at Cheran Maa Nagar. He was studying in Suguna PIP School at Nehru Nagar near Kalapatti. Preliminary investigation revealed that he took the step as he was not able to concentrate on his studies.
Police said the boy's parents were teachers in a private engineering college at Saravanampatti and his younger brother was studying in Class 6. His parents had gone to work and his younger brother to school when the boy took the extreme step.
"On Friday, he did not go to school and was alone at home. Around 4.30pm, his younger brother returned and found the door was locked from inside. Meanwhile, the boy's father reached home and broke open the door and found his son hanging," they said .TNN
