It's the time of the year when Kanwarias start coming to the Capital.

“All road users are advised to follow traffic rules and obey the directions of policemen on duty. During this period of Kanwaria movement traffic violations will be checked by on the spot prosecution and by photography/videography of violations which will be followed by prosecution,” said a statement issued by the Delhi Traffic Police.

“This year the “Shrawan Shivaratri” falls on August 1 which means that the Kanwarias, travelling to different cities of Haryana and Rajasthan have started coming to Delhi from July 20 and their number starts increasing from July 24,” the statement further added.

The main routes

Among the main routes taken by the Kanwarias through Delhi are mainly the border areas such as Apsara Border – Shahdara Flyover –Seelampur ‘T’ point –ISBT Flyover – Boulevard Road – Rani Jhansi Road – Faiz Road – Vande Matram Marg – Dhaula Kuan –NH-8 and exit from Rajokri Border to enter Haryana.
