IAS topper Tina Dabi to be honoured tomorrow

City’s Joint Action Forum convenor K. Vijaya Kumar on Saturday said that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu would felicitate Ms. Tina Dabi, the young Dalit girl, who went on to top the UPSC civil services examinations in 2015 at ‘A’ Convention Centre here on July 25. He said the 22-year-old girl made the world proud by clearing the most difficult exam in the world.

He said along with Ms. Tina, the forum would honour 16 top rankers who are now holding posts in administrative, revenue, foreign and railway services.

Mr. Kumar recollected the celebrations witnessed in city when Ms. Hephsiba Rani, a Dalit girl, who secured an all India rank in 2010. “Both these girls are inspiration to many who wish to make to the top in their chosen careers against all odds,” he said.

“Better education and equal opportunities are imperative in any progressive society. Ms. Tina’s achievement is certainly help the younger generation to go after their dreams,” he felt.
