The 25-year-old woman, who was arrested for the murder of an elderly man in Mayur Vihar, claimed she was “sexually exploited” on the pretext of being given a job, said sources in Delhi Police.

During questioning, the woman told police that a video of a sexual act was recorded and she was threatened that it would be made public if she didn’t agree to offer more sexual favours, said sources.

Police are yet to verify the allegations made by her.

According to the accused, she had gone to Samachar Apartments at 10 am on the day of the incident, after she was told she would get the original copy of the video, said sources.

“She was told that the video, in a pen drive, was in the TV. But it was not handed over to her. She ended up killing the man as she thought that was her only way out of the situation… she wanted to save her marriage,” said a police officer.

Festive offer

Footage from CCTV cameras at the entrance gate of the residential complex show the woman carrying the TV set with her when she is leaving Samachar Apartments. She dumped the TV and a pen drive in a drain in Dabri, said a police officer. However, police have not yet recovered the TV.

“It was her first visit to Samachar Apartments. She claimed she used to visit the government quarters in Lodhi Colony area earlier,” said the officer.
