Villagers lock substation over power cuts

PANIPAT: Residents of five villages of the district today locked the power substation in Jalalpur-1 village in Bapoli block over power cuts.

Residents of five villages of the district today locked the power substation in Jalalpur-1 village in Bapoli block over power cuts. They unlocked the station after the intervention of officials of UHBVN.

Some residents entered the substation last night and connected the power supply of their villages. A case was registered against 15 villagers on the complaint of Ashwani Kaushik, SDO, Chhajpur.

On getting information about the case, residents of Sanoli Khurd, Rispur, Nanhera, Jalalpur-1 and Adhmi villages reached the power substation today and locked it and staged a dharna. — TNS
