Only 39% clear 2nd-yr undergrad exam

JAMMU: Out of 11,845 students who appeared in the BA/BSc/BCom/BBA/BCA-II annual examination, 2016, 4,707 qualified, while 926 failed as the University of Jammu (JU) declared the result today.

Out of 11,845 students who appeared in the BA/BSc/BCom/BBA/BCA-II annual examination, 2016, 4,707 qualified, while 926 failed as the University of Jammu (JU) declared the result today.

A total of 5,815 candidates got re-appear in the examination and the total pass percentage stood at 39.

There were seven cases of unfair means in the examination conducted by the JU, while 124 cases were of disputed eligibility. A total of 7,564 students appeared in English examination and the pass percentage stood at 67 per cent. The lowest pass percentage of 35 was recorded in the subject of mathematics wherein a total of 1,288 aspirants appeared in the examination.

As many as 4,577 students appeared in the education subject examination and 43 per cent passed. In psychology and chemistry subjects pass percentage was 53. As many as 945 students appeared in the chemistry examination, while 143 students sat in psychology examination.
