Girl (11) who's singing national anthems of 80 countries in 41 languages is performing in Ireland - her 76th country - today

Capri Everitt (11) from Canada along with her mum Kerrie, dad Tom and brother Bowen is travelling to 80 countries and singing in 41 different languages to raise money for abandoned and orphaned children.

“When I found out that there were about 18 million orphans that are at risk of disease, malnutrition and death I knew I wanted to help,” said 11-year-old Capri.

“Every child deserves to have a voice that stands up for them. I hope to use my voice to get children access to clean water, food and a safe roof over their heads.”

The Everitt family are currently in Finland and Ireland will be the 76th country they visited.

The Irish "anthem event" will be held on Sunday July 24 at 3pm in Dublin on Grafton Street on the Stephen's Green end of the street.

The family’s journey called ‘Around The World in 80 Anthems’ was inspired by the classical novel by Jules Verne: Around the World in 80 Days.

“Because international children might not know famous pop songs, I’m singing each country’s national anthem so they can sing along with me,” said Capri.

She said she hopes that her actions will inspire children around the world to use their talents to help make the world a better place.

The money fundraised will go towards SOS Children’s Villages, the world's largest charity working with orphaned and abandoned children.
