Manchester United's Uruguayan defender Guillermo Varela has joined Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt for 2016-17.

The 23-year-old right-back moved to United from Atletico Penarol in 2013 for an undisclosed fee and had a season on loan with Real Madrid's reserves.

He made his senior United debut against West Ham in December and has made a total of 10 starts for the first team.

Varela made a substitute appearance in Jose Mourinho's first game in charge of United at Wigan last weekend.
