On Bhopal tour, Kashmiri youths talk of Army dream

Students from militancy-hit Kashmir took a tour of Bhopal on Friday as part of their integration into the national mainstream.Called 'Project Sadhbhavna', they got a feel of the cultural heritage of the state capital.

Bhopal: Students from militancy-hit Kashmir took a tour of Bhopal on Friday as part of their integration into the national mainstream. Called 'Project Sadhbhavna', they got a feel of the cultural heritage of the state capital. The students from Mendhar in Jammu and Kashmir were part of the tour conducted by Rashtriya Rifles Battalion under the aegis of Counter-Insurgency Force.
They visited MP State Shooting Academy Bhopal, Tatya Tope Stadium and a prominent mall.
Undeterred by protests against the army in the Valley, many of the Kashmiris said, they would love to be part of the force. "These huge buildings, healthy lifestyle, peaceful neighbourhood allures me, but everyone has a dream. I aspire to be an Armyman." said Sajid, a 13-year-old. The Kashmiri youths were seen enjoying riding cars and playing games at the mall. "Every region has its own beauty. The city has malls and other facilities, but there is obviously a reason they call Kashmir an heaven on earth," said a 16-year-old student, Mohin Khan. When they were asked about their tour, Anshid, said, "Our teacher says its safe here and we don't have to worry about anything."
"My dad is an amryman. I'll fight like him. That is what I want to do when I grow up" said Danish. This fortitude of these little kids and their dreams are based on no catastrophes.
"We want them to see the country, to see what is hidden . We want them to know that there is the world exists that is peaceful. We want them to spread this information on to their parents and their friends when they return," said R K Pandey, one of the mentors of the group.
