The Janawadi Mahila Sanghatane and progressive Dalit organisations have demanded that President Pranab Mukerjee intervene and initiate stringent action against the BJP for its alleged anti-women and anti-Dalit activities.

They also demanded that the authorities should also withdraw the recognition given to the BJP as a political party.

Condemning the statement by Dayashankar Singh about BSP supremo Mayawathi, vice-president of the sanghatane K. Neela, Dalit leaders Arjun Bhadre, Suryakant Nimbalkar, Dattatreya Ikkalki and vice-president of the Prajna Kanoonu Salaha Samiti Prabhu Khanapure said that the BJP’s reaction to the statement was not enough. Mr Dayashankar Singh should be arrested and criminal cases should be booked against him, they demanded.

The leaders said that the BJP and the Sangh Parivar units had proved their anti-women and anti-Dalit stand.
