CM thanks Rawat

Chief Minister Jayalalithaa has thanked her Uttarakhand counterpart Harish Rawat for making arrangements for the installation of Thiruvalluvar statue on the premises of Mela Bhavan in Haridwar.

In a letter to him, Ms. Jayalalithaa said the issue of the installation of the statue of Tamil sage-poet was causing considerable disquiet in Tamil Nadu, of which he was aware. Pointing out that she had written to the Prime Minister in this regard, she said she was grateful for Mr. Rawat to have responded speedily and positively to the outpouring of sentiments by Tamils on this sensitive issue. On behalf of people of Tamil Nadu, the Chief Minister thanked Mr. Rawat for his prompt and positive action.
