July 23, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:55 am IST - MYSURU:

A poster competition, walkathon and 3K run will be organised to create awareness about organ donation. CII Mysuru chairman N. Muthukumar said that over 200 students are expected to participate in the poster competition themed ‘Life…pass it on and gift a life’ on July 30.

On July 31, a walkathon will be held from Kote Anjaneya Swamy Temple at North Gate of Mysuru Palace, besides a 3K run from Chamundi Vihar Stadium to Mysuru zoo and back. On August 7, an awareness programme for doctors on ‘organ transplant implementation’ will be held at JSS Hospital between 3.30 p.m. and 5 p.m. to discuss constraints in organ transplants, practical difficulties in brain death identification, and counselling. Later, between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m., an awareness programme will be held for the public with experts sharing insights into transplants and experiences of donors and recipients.

Industries interested in attending or registering organ donors can call 9844785965 or 9986929988.
