Huge response to The Hindu In School Chess

The Hindu In School Chess competition conducted in association with Telangana Chess Association and sponsored by Thyrocare saw huge response from students from different schools and the platform provided a great opportunity to some of the young talented in the city to showcase their skills.

More than 200 students participated in the competition held at St. Joseph’s Public School in Habsiguda as a part of the International Chess Day on Friday. The competition was held in four categories – senior boys, junior boys, senior girls and junior girls. Nine players in each category were awarded prizes apart from participation certificate to all the participants.

Table tennis player Naina Jaiswal distributed prizes to the winners and asked the students to show commitment if they want to achieve their goal. She said parents play a key role in everyone’s lives and their contribution should not be undermined.

The top four in the senior boys were Hruthik Lokesh Puppala, Aaromal R.S., Jain Sai and Neel Venkat respectively who received a mementoes, medals and merit certificates while the next five Krishna Devarsh Palepu, Rohan B, Bhanu Prakash A, Raghuvarun Reddy and Sharath Chandra K received medals and certificates.

In the senior girls category the top four places went to Sri Chandana G, Shriya D, Sweta Sri and Aishwarya Naik who received mementoes, medals and merit certificates and the next five Roli, Namira Ahmed, Devika S, Nithya K.V. and Yamini Petnakota received medals and merit certificates.

Top nine in the junior boys were Srujan Keerthan, Spandan Pati, Digvijay, Tarun K, Shruthik Sarvagni Puppala, Abhinav D, Abhinav R, Sree Vijay and Hima Surya Kandru who received a mementoes, medals and merit certificates.

The junior girls category winners were Trisha K, Yagna Priya P, Sree Bhavagnya, Kheerthi G, Sai Akila M, Rimitha Reddy R, Saahithi Pratapa, Sai Samketha and Advaita Sharma K.
