Hursagundigi village in Shahpur taluk of Yadgir district returned to normality on Friday after the backwaters from the Sannati barrage at Chittapur taluk of Kalaburagi district entered the village on Thursday.

The water entered many low-lying houses in the village and destroyed foodgrains and other materials.

Praksh Hosmanu, tahsildar of Shahapur and other officials of Revenue Department, visited the village and ascertained the loss that was caused by the incident.

“I would send detailed report to the district administration,” he told The Hindu over phone.

Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) demanded that the officials of KBJNL provide food grains to the victims.
